AMR Summer 2011 Update

First thing’s first: There has been so much demand for 2DeepSoul’s “THE DEEPNESS” that we have decided we can’t ignore it any longer. We have repressed the record, and it should be back in record stores shortly. This may have some of you wondering if we plan on repressing any of our other out-of-print releases. Not right now. Many releases still have availability at places such as Discogs and other trading services. And of course, a number of releases have found their way onto filesharing sites.

Speaking of which, our stance on filesharing is clear: It’s illegal and it’s not something we’ll stand for. Many of our artists’ contracts state that they get a larger portion of digital sales when their releases go digital. When you’re sharing files, people aren’t buying them from our digital outlets and artists aren’t getting paid. Please don’t steal music. We know about it and go after people who do it.

Anyway.On a much more positive note, we’ve managed to put together a small tour during our stay in Germany! On July 23, AMR chief director Malcolm Moore came on as a guest DJ at the Futura party and wowed the crowd with his special blend of deepness. He and long-time friend Estimulo of Estimulo Show will do it again on August 13 at Chez Jacki in Berlin. On August 26 and 27, Moore visits Oslo, Norway for two more gigs there. UPCOMING RELEASES: The collab with Deep Explorer Music is still on track, coming later this summer. Then, Malcolm Moore goes back to the US and shows his love for Chicago and the Bay Area…we’ll let you ponder that a little bit!
